Youth Coach

Employability Skills Training · Werribee, Victoria
Department Employability Skills Training
Employment Type Full-Time
Compensation $35.42 per hour

A bit about you:

You are a born facilitator, who loves the challenge of working with diverse young people in a learning environment. You have experience working in Training and Assessment for an RTO, employment services, youth work, social work, or a mix of all. You ideally hold a Certificate IV Training & Assessment, but it’s not a deal breaker if you don’t. Most of our training is not accredited. Your focus is on excellent training delivery and engagement, rather than tedious RTO compliance activities.

You always see the person, not just their immediate situation because you understand that everyone has different needs, and that is okay. You’re passionate about tackling youth disadvantage on the frontline. You understand the importance of engaging and supporting young people to empower them to address complex barriers to employment. You’re flexible and full of creative ways to meet our clients where they are, and believe that engagement shouldn’t be a one size fits all model.

Key requirements for this role:

  • Certificate IV in Youth Work, Community Services, Career Development or Training & Assessment
  • Experience facilitating employment focused training programs
  • A passion and dedication for community development and social justice

A bit about the role:

As an Employability Skills Trainer, you will facilitate job-ready programs and support young people and job seekers to address barriers to employment, education, and/or training. Our Youth Coaches are enablers who connect the needs of clients with the needs of the local labour market.

Through developing and delivering innovative activity-based groups, building relationships, and providing intensive interventions and support, you will mentor young people and job seekers into sustainable employment pathways.

You will work independently, but be part of a team that includes experienced coaches, administration support and a dedicated course content manager. More broadly, you’ll be part of the wider Youth Projects team which is multidisciplinary, diverse, and award winning.

Site Location: Werribee
