A bit about the Role

We are on the hunt for a vibrant Café Supervisor to join our ever-growing social enterprise team at The Little Social.  

We want someone that is excited at the opportunity to share their skills and knowledge with the future generation and has the skills to help create a unique and socially conscious experience behind every purchase at The Little Social. 

The Café Supervisor will be the central point of contact for the day-to-day oversight of our brand-new café. You will also supervise and provide hands-on mentoring, support and guidance to the team whilst taking the lead with stock management, rostering and building customer retention.

We are in the final stages of signing the lease for our newest location – in the heart of St Kilda (more info coming soon!)

A bit about you

You will be a superstar café/hospitality supervisor that can coordinate and inspire our team of changemakers to deliver  amazing coffeeand provide the highest levels of customer service in a breakfast/lunch environment

You are someone that is full of creative ideas, and you have the drive to roll your sleeves up to bring those ideas to life. Problem-solving comes naturally to you and you can draw on your critical thinking skills to come up with a range of solutions when situations arise.

You’re full of creative ways to meet our customers and team members where they are at and believe that engagement shouldn’t be a one size fits all model. You always see the person, not just their immediate situation because you understand that everyone has different needs, and that is okay.

The idea of joining a project at the start, ironing out the kinks as you go fills your cup.  

Key requirements for this role

☕Experience in managing or coordinating service delivery in a hospitality environment

☕Passion for social change and an enthusiasm for mentoring disadvantaged young people to help their success!

☕Passion for new trends across the coffee/cafe industry and full of innovative ideas

☕Team-first approach

☕Highly developed interpersonal skills, inclusive of all people and all abilities

☕Proven ability to meet targets

A little bit about us, The Little Social 

The Little Social is a bespoke coffee bar that brews the finest espresso and empowers young people to lead meaningful lives by providing hands-on skills development and mentoring from industry experts. Each young person has a platform at The Little Social to build self-confidence, gain key employability skills and genuine work experience in a supportive and judgement free environment. Our cafes harness community goodwill towards social and economic sustainability and ethical business and invests profits into innovate and grow within a social justice framework - reaffirming our vision of young people being good-to-go into a competitive job market.  


The Little Social is powered by Youth Projects - an independent, registered charity who provides front line support to individuals and young people experiencing disadvantage, homelessness, unemployment, alcohol and other drug issues through a range of holistic and wrap around support services. Youth Projects is on a mission to provide high impact support, without judgement, full stop.
